Hola Hola! Thanks for stopping by The Nurtured Nurse! My name is Tasha Triana and I’m a Registered Nurse (among many things).  I created The Nurtured Nurse as a platform to inspire nurses to engage in their own self care and wellness. Through my own life and experience as a nurse, I have realized that nurses are amazing nurturers and caretakers—probably the best around! —but often at our own expense—giving and giving to everybody around us, and then giving whatever tiny amount of energy (if any) is left over to ourselves.

I genuinely LOVE helping and taking care of others—so much so that I made a career out of it ;) — but my own journey as a nurse has taught me (and continues to teach me) that I often did it from a place of imbalance. While care taking is a genuine passion of mine, the old me would often take care of others’ needs as a way to avoid my own emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. I remember so clearly when I had this realization. It was such a game changer!

It’s not always easy to prioritize ourselves, especially in such a fast moving culture, where self care is often mislabeled as “selfish.” Moving away from the selfish label was something I struggled with, but the more I began to prioritize myself, the easier it became. I now consistently make time for myself, and the things that help me be my best self.

Self care is a daily practice, and it all started with the realization that I needed to be there for me first. When I’m there for myself, I have learned that I am actually able to give to others better. Filling my own cup first, allows me to show up as the best version of myself, which in turn creates a ripple effect with everybody I come into contact with!

My hope is to inspire nurses to nurture themselves. Mind + Body + Soul !!!
